![]() Franziska ~ This is a very special theatre as can be recognized before the curtain rises: rose trees are growing from out of the dark, russet base and the roses wind themselves about the stage. Elves clamber up the rose bushes. They peer attentively at the stage where an enchanting scene appears. A deep forest can be seen, with high, dark trees. No doubt that this is a mystic place, a magic forest, because it is not getting darker the deeper one penetrates into it, but lighter. There, in the glaring, whirring light between the dark tree-trunks an elf with shimmering wings dances on a forest meadow that is covered with a carpet of flowers. The children are holding their breaths. They forget to play with their toys, the silk teddy, the soft cat, the precious automaton on wheels even Kristin lets her rope drop for a moment and is captivated by the mysterious world of the theatre. They forget that everything is just imagination, a play with the appearance of reality. For them it's all true and real and living. It's just the same for me. In my "Land of Imagination" I met the children. I looked at them from a distance, watched their play. This moment of breathless pausing, of being spellbound by a glimpse of a magic world I made manifest in my dolls. I was longing for this moment, this state of their completion. I saw them clearly before me while my hands were creating them. I could hear their voices, their laughter. I also loved the theatre when I was a child, I held my breath expectantly when the auditorium grew dark and the stage was bathed in a mysterious light. Some of my dolls are derived from fairytales, fables and myths. Despite the subject "Land of Imagination" I did without fairy-tale elements when designing this year's collection. Even though I, of course, remained true to my own great demands of quality and firstclass workmanship in the materials, fabrics and accessories used, my dolls nonetheless represent children you could meet anywhere. Anywhere - but most surely in the country to where my dolls will be delighted to accompany you. Let them take you by the hand -and lead you and discover, together with them, your own "Land of Imagination" !
